The flooding that took place in the late 1970s, when the Cheboksary HPP was built and the level of the Volga River was raised, a part of the historic city was absorbed. Water becomes the main element of the sound image, a metaphor for time. Through the work of Whisper In the Woods, the artist offers to listen to the sounds of a sunken city, the story of which excites the imagination.
The work allows us to listen to the sounds of a place that have never been heard - they are mysterious and fascinating. Sounds smoothly shift from natural to digital. The artist suggests the listener immerse himself in the atmosphere of the singing forest, in the song of which fiction and history intertwine.
